Fulton County, Georgia – Three million dollars can buy more than performances, exhibitions and workshops. In Fulton County, officials are betting it can also build stronger neighborhoods, open doors for new audiences and keep local creativity within reach.
That investment will spread across organizations large and small during fiscal year 2026, giving the county’s arts community a significant financial boost at a time when nonprofit groups often depend on public support to sustain programming.
The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved $2,857,643 in initial Contracts for Services awards on July 15. The funding will support 200 organizations across 14 categories, while another $142,357 will be distributed through subsequent awards. Together, the allocations bring the county’s planned FY2026 investment to $3 million.
Administered by the Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture, the Contracts for Services Program provides both general operating assistance and funding for specific projects. Eligible recipients include nonprofit arts and cultural organizations, cultural institutions, colleges and universities, municipalities and community-based groups.

County officials said the program is designed not only to strengthen Fulton County’s creative sector, but also to make arts programming more accessible to residents throughout the county.
“The Fulton County Board of Commissioners is proud to invest in the organizations that enrich our communities through arts and culture,” Chairman Robb Pitts said.
“These investments strengthen our communities, expand access to creative opportunities for residents of all ages, and reflect our continued commitment to supporting a vibrant and thriving Fulton County.”
David Manuel, director of Fulton County Arts & Culture, said the continued funding recognizes the role artists and cultural organizations play in shaping local communities.
“The continued investment in the Contracts for Services Program reflects Fulton County’s commitment to supporting the artists and organizations that help make our communities vibrant and culturally rich,” Manuel said.
The FY2026 funding cycle also introduces the Veterans Creative Arts Pool. Created under Resolution No. 21-0282, the dedicated funding stream will support organizations providing creative arts programs for Fulton County veterans and their families.
The new veterans category adds another layer to a program already reaching hundreds of organizations, extending the county’s arts investment to residents who may benefit from specialized creative opportunities.
