Alpharetta, Georgia – Downtown Alpharetta will turn into a sprawling songwriter showcase this fall, with six outdoor stages, more than 40 performances and two full days built around one thing: original music.
The 13th Annual Wire & Wood Songwriters Festival returns October 9 and 10, bringing country, Americana, indie rock, soul, folk and bluegrass into the heart of the city. Admission to the outdoor festival is free.
Friday’s music runs from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with country artist Corey Smith set to headline the evening. Saturday expands into a full day of performances from 11 a.m. through 10:30 p.m., ending with platinum-selling rock band Sister Hazel.
The newly released performance schedule fills the weekend with nationally known musicians, independent artists and emerging songwriters. Featured performers include Crystal Bowersox, Blair Crimmins & The Hookers, J.R. Moore of Ingram Hill, Liz Longley, Michael Tolcher & Friends, Kristina Murray, Spencer Thomas, formerly of Futurebirds, Cat Ridgeway, Caleb Caudle and Lily Grace.

Saturday will also bring back the festival’s Listening Room at Roaring Social. The limited-capacity indoor showcase features David Lowery, Angie Aparo and David Ryan Harris. Unlike the outdoor performances, the Listening Room requires a ticket. Admission is $30, with net proceeds supporting the City of Alpharetta’s Music Match program and its year-round live music efforts.
Festival visitors will also be within walking distance of more than 50 downtown restaurants, specialty retailers, public art and gathering spaces. Merchandise will be sold during the weekend, while free parking will be available throughout downtown. Guests are encouraged to bring portable lawn chairs for outdoor seating.
