Alpharetta advances 2045 Comprehensive Plan with new open house meetings inviting residents to refine long term vision of Alpharetta

Alpharetta, Georgia – City leaders in Alpharetta are moving on to the next phase of the city’s 2045 Comprehensive Plan. They are asking residents to stand up again and help decide what happens next.

Hundreds of people in the community have already spoken up. Earlier surveys got a lot of people to take part, and the first gatherings brought neighbors together to talk about their aspirations, concerns, and ideas for the future of Alpharetta. That feedback is now being put together and improved, which will lead to another round of public discussion.

The second public meeting for the Comprehensive Plan Update will take place in two parts in the City Hall Community Room, which is at 2 Park Plaza in Alpharetta. The first session will be on March 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. From 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on March 17, 2026, there will be another opportunity. Both meetings will be open-house style, so people can come at any moment throughout the scheduled time.

These meetings are meant for conversation, not like formal hearings. Attendees will be able to go over draft ideas, talk to members of the planning team directly, and ask specific questions about how the ideas are coming together. Organizers explain that the purpose is not just to give information, but also to actively record what the public says and use it to make genuine planning decisions.

The Comprehensive Plan is a long-term plan that shows how Alpharetta will expand and develop until 2045. The update process looks at new data and feedback from residents to decide what the most important things are for the community’s growth, transportation, land use, and general character.

The document does more than just set goals for the city. It also makes sure that the city stays in line with state rules that keep it eligible for important financing opportunities.

City leaders emphasize that the best time to get involved is now. The ideas being shared are based on what the community has said before, and the comments from these meetings will help shape the ultimate direction.
