Alpharetta’s Independence Day celebration promises another summer highlight at Wills Park

Alpharetta, Georgia – This Independence Day, Wills Park in Alpharetta will once again be the place to be. The city is getting ready for its big Fourth of July fireworks show. The fireworks show, which is appreciated by both locals and tourists, will take place on Friday, July 4, 2025, at 9:15 p.m., weather permitting. The concert might start as late as 10:45 p.m. if the weather causes delays.

The party is free and promises to be a fun, family-friendly event. To have the best time, guests are asked to attend early and bring picnic blankets, lawn chairs, games, and coolers. Concession stalls will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There are places to get food and drinks all across the park, such as the Wills Park Equestrian Center, the Wills Park Pool, and the baseball concession areas.

There will be parking at a number of important lots in Wills Park, such as Wacky World, the Recreation Center, the Equestrian Center, and the Alpharetta Community Center on Roswell Street. However, with large crowds expected, all parking lots will close when they are full.

Because of this, Old Milton Parkway between Wills Road and State Route 9 and Wills Road between Old Milton Parkway and State Route 9 are expected to be closed approximately 4:00 p.m. Police officers will be on the scene to aid with traffic and make sure that cars get where they need to go safely.

The City of Alpharetta has sent out a number of reminders to make sure that everyone has a safe and fun time at the event. You can’t drink or smoke in the park. You can’t use consumer fireworks, drones, or charcoal grills. A limited number of licenses (up to 50) will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis to anybody who want to bring a gas barbecue.

Families are advised to leave pets at home, as the fireworks may be distressing. If you have to bring a pet, it must always be on a leash or in a crate. Visitors should think about taking a torch, bug spray, extra drink, and a blanket to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Small tents and pop-up canopies are okay earlier in the day, but they have to come down before sunset so that everyone can see the spectacle. Each leg of the canopy must also have a 40-pound anchor on it, since stakes are not allowed.

Some parts of Wills Park’s trails will also be closed to the public on the evening of July 4. Visitors are urged to follow all posted signs and directions for their own safety.

The yearly fireworks show in Alpharetta is still one of the best things to do in the summer. It’s a fun way for the whole community to gather together and celebrate the country’s birthday under the skies.
