Free Memorial Day weekend celebration in Atlanta to feature national stars and local jazz talent

Atlanta, Georgia – Atlanta’s long-running celebration of jazz and community will return to Piedmont Park this Memorial Day Weekend as the Atlanta Jazz Festival marks its 49th year. Recognized as one of the largest free jazz festivals in the country, the three-day gathering is set for May 23 through May 25, welcoming residents and visitors to experience live music, culture, and shared tradition in the heart of the city.

Daily activities will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., with performances scheduled between 1 p.m. and 11 p.m. Organizers say this year’s program blends nationally known performers with local artists across a wide range of styles, including traditional, contemporary, smooth, hip-hop-influenced, soul, funk, and modern jazz. City cultural leaders describe the lineup as both a celebration of Atlanta’s musical roots and a reflection of the creative talent shaped within Georgia.

Community support remains central to the festival’s identity. Design Essentials returns as presenting sponsor for a third consecutive year, highlighting its longstanding ties to Atlanta’s culture and neighborhoods. Bank of America also continues its involvement, emphasizing the role of the arts in strengthening community connections and honoring the city’s musical heritage.

The 2026 event introduces new operational partners as well. Sol Fusion will serve as festival manager, while Next Level Events will oversee artist booking and management, signaling what organizers call a new phase of growth for the nearly five-decade tradition.

Festivalgoers can expect free admission, family-focused programming in the Publix KidZone, and a wide variety of food and retail vendors offering cuisine, art, clothing, jewelry, and official festival merchandise. Safety guidelines will prohibit grilling, pets, tent staking, and glass containers within the festival area. VIP lounge access will also be available for those seeking an upgraded experience.
