Fulton County, Georgia – The Fulton County Board of Commissioners will hold its first meeting of January on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. This will bring county business back into focus at the start of the new year. The meeting will start at 10 a.m. and be held in the Assembly Hall at the Fulton County Government Center in downtown Atlanta.
The commissioners are anticipated to keep looking over the county’s financial plans, with the main topic of discussion being the FY2026 Final Adopted Budget. As the board works toward final approval and decides which projects should get funding first in the next fiscal year, the budget review remains a top priority.
The board will also hear operational updates from the county manager during the budget debate. These briefings will give commissioners and the public an overview of what the county is currently doing and how it is making progress in its administration.
There are also a few more things on the agenda that need to be talked about. The board will choose the Fulton County Vice Chair for 2026. This person will help run meetings and committee work all year long.

The commissioners will also get a presentation about how Fulton County is getting ready for the 2026 World Cup. This will include information about the planning that is going into the tournament and how it is projected to affect the county.
Members of the public may attend the meeting in person. Fulton Government Television, including its YouTube site and live-streaming channels, will broadcast the session live for those who are unable to attend.
Public participation remains a part of the meeting process. People who live in the area and want to make a public statement can do so in person or through Zoom. All requests to speak, whether in person or online, must be made before the clerk officially starts the meeting at 10 a.m. You must sign up ahead of time to be able to comment in public.
The meeting on January 7 is a great opportunity for residents to keep up with important county decisions as Fulton County starts its work for 2026.
