Fulton County commissioners to open December with regular meeting focused on FY2026 planning

Fulton County, Georgia – The Fulton County Board of Commissioners’ first regular meeting of December will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. This will be the start of a new month of decisions and community involvement. The session will start at 10 a.m. in the Assembly Hall at the Fulton County Government Center. It will be open for conversations about county services, department briefings, and the new year’s top goals.

A public hearing on the proposed operating budget for FY2026 is one of the main things that will happen during the meeting. The commissioners should look over the budget projections and ask the community what they think about the spending needs for the next fiscal year. In addition to talking about the budget, the County Manager and a few agencies will give updates, including reports from Elections, Public Works, and Finance. Transit will also be on the agenda with a regular quarterly briefing from MARTA, which will give the public information about changes in transportation and how the system is working.

There will be two proclamations at the gathering, each one meant to bring attention to people and concerns in the community. One will mark Jessica McNair Appreciation Day, while the other will honor Human Rights Day. Both of these acknowledgments show that the county wants to make civic values and individual contributions a big part of its public agenda.

Community members are welcome to come in person, but those who can’t will still be able to watch the event live on Fulton County Government Television. Public participation remains a core element of the meeting, with residents given the opportunity to speak either virtually or directly from the Assembly Hall floor. The Board will need all virtual comments and requests to speak in person to be in by 10 a.m. when the clerk begins the meeting.

This will help them deal with comments quickly. A change in procedure introduced at the start of 2024 also affects how written comments must be sent in, making the public communication process more structured and clear.

People who want to take part are advised to sign up in advance for both the budget hearing and the general public comment section. As the commissioners enter the last month of the year, this meeting is an early start toward setting objectives for the coming year while also giving people an opportunity to speak.
