Fulton County invites residents to review new report on local water treatment and quality

Fulton County, Georgia – The Fulton County Department of Public Works has officially issued its 2025 Consumer Confidence Report, which gives residents a full picture of how safe and clean their drinking water is. The county is committed to being truthful and open with the public and protecting public health. You may read the yearly report online at fultoncountyga.gov/waterquality. If you want a hard copy, you can call 404-612-7400 and ask for a printed report.

The paper explains how water is collected, cleaned, and sent to houses across the county, step by step. It also explains changes to water rules, strategies for saving water, and ways that people may help protect this important resource.

“The goal of this report is to answer any questions residents may have about the quality of our drinking water,” said Fulton County Director of Public Works David Clark in a release. “In Fulton County, the resilience and integrity of our drinking water is a top priority. We have a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to delivering some of the best water in the state.”

More than 250 workers operate behind the scenes every day to keep the water system running. They do things like taking regular water samples, flushing lines to keep them from getting clogged, and checking that the equipment is working properly. Employees keep a strict eye on every step, from taking water from the river to delivering it to the tap.

The 2025 report additionally addresses changes to the Lead and Copper Rule, which is a federal law that tries to lower the amount of lead in drinking water. Fulton County has made improvements to better protect public health in compliance with the new rule.

The report also provides information about conservation programs that residents may take part in, such as free assessments of how efficiently their homes use water and rebates for buying high-efficiency toilets. These programs are meant to help families save money on their utility bills and cut down on water wastage.

Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Milton, and Roswell are just a few of the communities that get their water from the North Fulton water system. The Tom Lowe Atlanta-Fulton County Water Treatment Plant is where all the water in the area is treated. This facility has been praised for its high standards of performance and quality.

Fulton County’s effort to keep residents safe and informed continues with this report—one drink of water at a time.
