Fulton County, Georgia – Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. is starting the 2025 Dads, Daughters, Dolls + Sons Toy Giveaway. This is a holiday project to make the season brighter for kids whose dads are in jail at the Fulton County Jail. The Friends of Wolfcreek and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office are working together on the effort, which starts its contribution drive on Monday, December 1.
The idea is clear: get new dolls and other toys and give them to kids who are without a parent.
“It is about bringing joy to the children who are missing their fathers,” said Commissioner Arrington. “Our goal is to make sure that these children feel the impact of their father’s love far beyond the bars and understand that although they may not be with them, they are always thinking of them, especially during the holiday season.”
From Monday, December 1 to Friday, December 12, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., people can donate at two county locations. Community members can drop off things at the Fulton County Government Center at 141 Pryor Street SW, Atlanta, GA 30303, or at the Fulton County South Annex at 5600 Stonewall Tell Road, South Fulton, GA 30349. Families are asked to bring new, unopened items to make sure the distribution goes smoothly and safely.
The event for giving out the items will take place on Tuesday, December 16, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Organizers want a focused, early evening pickup so that caregivers may come and to maintain the event pleasant and family-oriented. Anyone who wants to help out is welcome. They can help meet families, organize gifts, and hand them out.
The effort is at the crossroads of community care and public service. The program fills a very specific need over the holidays by focusing on kids whose parents are behind bars. This need is frequently not obvious, but it is very real. The partners, such as the Sheriff’s Office and Friends of Wolfcreek, are using their networks to make sure the process is efficient and respectful.
People who want to help can provide a toy, join up to volunteer, or tell others about the collecting window and pickup date. [email protected] is the best place for community members to get information about volunteering or ask general questions. Every gift, big or small, brings the drive closer to its goal: to let kids know that they are recognized, supported, and celebrated during the time of year when it matters most.
