Fulton County residents invited to weigh in on proposed 5% hike in water and sewer rates

Fulton County, Georgia – Officials in Fulton County are asking residents to give their opinions on changes to water and sewer rates that could happen in the next two years. The Department of Public Works wants to hear from the community about a 5% rate increase. This hike is meant to help pay for important infrastructure improvements and the county’s updated 2025–2027 Capital Improvement Program.

The county has set up two hearings to make it easier for people to take part. At these hearings, locals can express their opinions and ask questions. The first meeting will be on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the South Fulton County Service Center, which is at 5600 Stonewall Tell Road in College Park. The second hearing will take place on Tuesday, July 29, at the same time as the first one, on the second floor of the Fulton County Customer Service Center at 11575 Maxwell Road in Alpharetta.

Officials say that the planned hike is needed to keep Fulton County’s water and sewer facilities working properly. A large chunk of the money would be used to make the Camp Creek Water Reclamation Facility more effective. This facility is an important part of the county’s wastewater management system.
