Fulton County stands out nationally for sustained economic development performance

Fulton County, Georgia – Fulton County is once again one of the best places in the country for business, coming in at number 13 on Site Selection Magazine’s latest list of Top Counties. The result shows that the county has been in the national Top 20 for three years in a row. This shows that it is a reliable place to invest, create jobs, and prosper over the long run.

The annual rating looks at more than just big announcements. It shows all the economic development tasks that counties do, like getting permits, coordinating zoning, planning infrastructure, getting workers ready, and helping existing businesses stay open. The rankings are based on projects that were announced between January 2024 and March 2025. They also look at the overall amount of money invested and the number of jobs generated. The data comes from Site Selection’s Conway Projects Database.

County authorities said that the continued recognition shows consistent, planned improvement instead of short-term enthusiasm. Samir Abdullahi, the Fulton Director, said that long-term success comes from planning and carrying out projects together long before they are made public.

He stated that Fulton County can sustain complicated investments because of its capacity to work together, have the right infrastructure in place, and have access to a large pool of talented people as competition for projects grows across the country.

Being in the Top 20 for three years in a row shows that the market is robust at its core. Fulton County’s economy is based on a wide range of industries and a business-friendly climate that is balanced with careful planning.

The county continues to be a major driver of economic activity in metropolitan Atlanta, the Southeast, and beyond. This is in line with a national pattern where the best counties are linked to major urban areas.

Chairman Robb Pitts of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners said that the ranking shows the hard work that all of the county’s departments and partnerships with regional groups and businesses do every day.

“These rankings reflect what we already know, Fulton County is a national leader with the strength, governance, and vision to compete at the highest level,” says Robb Pitts, Chairman, Fulton County Board of Commissioners.

“Our success is driven by the intentional work happening every day across Fulton County departments with regional partners and the business community.”

The Top Counties list is different from rankings that just look at big contracts because it looks at the whole process of economic development. Fulton County’s high ranking is due to its mature and diverse economy, continued investments in logistics, technology, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing, and the ability to support projects of all sizes in cities, suburbs, and new job centers.
