Fulton County urges residents to register by April 20 deadline ahead of May primary election

Fulton County, Georgia – With the May 19 General Primary and Nonpartisan Election drawing closer, Fulton County is urging residents not to wait until the final hour to get ready.

Monday, April 20, marks the deadline to register to vote, making the coming days especially important for anyone who still needs to sign up or update their voter information.

County officials are encouraging voters to take a fresh look at their registration details before the deadline arrives.

That includes people who are new to Fulton County, those who have recently moved, anyone who has changed their name, or voters who need to correct their address. A quick check now could help prevent problems later, and residents can review their status through the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page.

For those who still need to register, the state’s Online Voter Registration Page offers a direct way to complete the process. The deadline lands nearly a month before Election Day, giving voters a limited but important window to make sure they are officially on the rolls before ballots begin to take center stage.

After registration closes, the next major phase of the election calendar arrives quickly. Advance voting is set to begin on Monday, April 27, and will continue through Friday, May 15. That early voting period gives residents extra flexibility and more time to cast their ballots ahead of the May 19 election.

Fulton County is also offering in-person options for residents who want assistance or prefer to handle registration matters face to face. Voter Registration offices are available at the Fulton County Elections Hub and Operations Center, 5600 Campbellton Fairburn Road in Union City; the Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections, 130 Peachtree St. SW, Suite 2186 in Atlanta; the Fulton County North Service Center, 7741 Roswell Road NE, Room 251 in Sandy Springs; and the Fulton County South Service Center, 5600 Stonewall Tell Road, Room 105 in South Fulton

Beyond those office locations, the county’s Voter Education Outreach team is traveling through the community to promote voter registration and help residents stay informed. More details about outreach efforts and election information are available at www.fultonelections.com.

As the deadline approaches, Fulton County’s message is clear: check your status, register if needed, and make a plan to vote. In an election season that often moves quickly, a few minutes now can make all the difference when it is time to head to the polls.
