New mile-long section of alpha loop in Alpharetta offers scenic walks and overlook bridge

Alpharetta, Georgia – On June 1, a new segment of the Alpha Loop was unveiled, extending from Old Milton Parkway to Northwinds Parkway and passing beneath Westside Parkway through a tunnel. This addition, about one mile in length, offers a picturesque walk in Alpharetta and includes a striking overlook bridge.

This latest development, costing $14 million, links Downtown Alpharetta with both Avalon and the Northwinds District via the Alpha Loop.

The Alpha Loop is shaping up to be a significant enhancement for Alpharetta. It’s designed as a vibrant, multi-use trail system that aims to connect local neighborhoods to key activity hubs, fostering improved mobility, healthier living, and a better quality of life for those who live, work, or visit here. Once fully completed, the Alpha Loop will span 4 miles, linking over 15,000 job opportunities and major centers like Avalon, Downtown, the North Point Eco District, and Northwinds. It will also tie into the 26-mile Big Creek Greenway, allowing for wider regional access, including connections to the MARTA transit system.
