“People, Purpose, Presence” theme leads Fulton’s celebration of vital public services

Fulton County, Georgia – As part of National Public Works Week, running from May 18 to May 24, Fulton County is preparing to highlight the vital efforts of its public works team. Officially giving a proclamation to the Department of Public Works, the Board of Commissioners will start the celebration during their meeting on Wednesday, May 21.

Following the proclamation, the department will run a unique exhibit in the Government Center Atrium. Public works personnel will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide information, respond to requests, and showcase the department’s many achievements. This display intends to show local residents more clearly how public works affects their everyday life and helps the community.

Intended to highlight the fundamental ideals motivating public works professionals daily, this year’s topic is “People, Purpose, Presence”. The team’s efforts, according to Public Works Director David Clark, are aimed at fulfilling the needs of the people they serve—whether that means maintaining sanitary sewer and water distribution systems, keeping roads and traffic signals running smoothly in unincorporated areas, or providing community education about water and pollution prevention.
