Fulton County Sheriff’s Office hosts back-to-school giveaway for local families on Saturday, July 18

Atlanta, Georgia – For Fulton County families still checking off school-supply lists, this weekend could bring timely relief. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office is preparing to welcome students and parents to a community giveaway aimed at helping children begin the new school year with the essentials they need.

The event comes with one important detail: supplies are limited. Registration is required, and items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Back-to-School Giveaway will be held Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Villages at Carver Family YMCA, located at 1600 Pryor Road SW in Atlanta.

Organizers are encouraging families to register before arriving. Registration is available through Eventbrite.

The giveaway is designed to help local students prepare for a successful return to the classroom while easing some of the seasonal costs faced by parents and caregivers. Back-to-school shopping can quickly add up as families purchase notebooks, backpacks and other classroom necessities, making community distribution events especially valuable before the first bell rings.

Beyond handing out supplies, the gathering will also give residents a chance to connect with the Sheriff’s Office and other community partners in a family-focused setting. The department described the event as an investment in Fulton County students and in the wider community they call home.

Sponsors are also playing a key role in making the giveaway possible. The Sheriff’s Office thanked the organizations supporting the event, noting that the combined effort is intended to strengthen the community while giving students a more confident start to the academic year.

Families planning to attend should keep the limited quantity of supplies in mind. Completing registration does not change the first-come, first-served distribution process, so arriving early may offer the best opportunity to receive available items.

With the new school year approaching, Saturday’s event gives Fulton County families a short window to secure added support, meet community partners and help students walk into class better prepared for the months ahead.
