Alpharetta, Georgia – This weekend, music of the Wire and Wood Music Festival will echo through the streets of Downtown Alpharetta, but not without a few changes to the daily commute. The festival, celebrated for bringing together a dynamic range of musicians, necessitates significant road closures, including a major section of State Route 9, to accommodate both performers and attendees.
From Thursday, October 10, at 5 AM until Saturday, October 12, at 6 PM, North Broad Street will be the first to close, marking the beginning of the festival setup. The closures will expand on Friday, October 11, at 5 AM, continuing through Sunday, October 13, at 4 AM. During this period, key downtown streets such as Milton Avenue—from the parking deck entrance to HWY 9—and Roswell/Canton Street—from Old Roswell Street to Old Canton Street—will be inaccessible to vehicles. Additionally, Old Roswell Street from the parking lot entrance to Milton Avenue will be closed to facilitate festival activities.

Commerce Street, North Broad Street, and Market Street—from South Broad Street to Academy Street—will also see closures starting from 9 AM on Friday, October 11, and will remain closed until the early hours of Sunday. The area around HWY 9, from Milton Avenue to Old Milton Parkway, and South Broad Street will follow suit, with closures beginning at 10 AM on Friday and lasting through 1 AM on Sunday.
For those planning to attend the festival or travel through downtown Alpharetta, additional closures will be in place from 4 PM to midnight on Friday, and from 10 AM to midnight on Saturday, particularly affecting Park Plaza from Academy Street to the City Hall parking deck entrance.

Motorists are advised to steer clear of these areas due to expected delays and heavy pedestrian traffic. Available parking facilities include the Milton Avenue parking deck at 92 Milton Avenue, the Roswell Street lot at 45 Roswell Street, the Old Roswell Street lot at 27 Old Roswell Street, the City Hall parking deck at 2 Park Plaza, and the Alpharetta Community Center at 175 Roswell Street.
On-street parking will be strictly prohibited along the affected roads from 6:00 AM on Friday, October 11, until 4:00 AM on Sunday, October 13. Any vehicles left on the streets during the specified times will be subject to ticketing or towing at the owner’s expense.
