Wire & Wood Songwriters Festival in downtown Alpharetta kicks off this weekend with music, art, and community fun

Alpharetta, Georgia – The city of Alpharetta is scheduled to host its beloved Wire & Wood Songwriters Festival this weekend, an annual festival of music and art bringing participants from around the country. Friday and Saturday, October 11–12, the event—known for its varied blend of music and energetic atmosphere—will take place in downtown Alpharetta.

Event details and new additions

Starting Friday evening at 6:00 p.m., the celebration will last late into the night until 11:00 p.m. The festival starts early on Saturday, at 11:00 a.m., spreading the celebrations all through the day until 11:00 p.m. again. The festival’s Saturday agenda has been extended this year to give more time for attendees to savor the events and performances. As usual, the event guarantees free entrance to its seven stages, where more than 40 performances will take place.

The Live Art Lounge, where guests may view art come to life at the hands of gifted local artists from Rising Tide Studio, is a major new addition this year. Located at the Canton Curbside Stage, the Music Makers Market is another highlight for investigating music-themed goods and crafts.

Headliners and performances

The 2024 roster features a range of musicians to guarantee a musical taste for any pallet. With their single “Kiss Me,” Friday’s headliner, Sixpence None the Richer, is likely to inspire a little of nostalgia. With his mix of soul and R&B, Neal Francis will enthrall the audience on Saturday. Starting at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, the festival will also include a special ticketed Listening Room concert at Roaring Social with David Ryan Harris and other musicians in a more personal environment.

Dining and accommodations

More than 50 nearby dining establishments will be providing various food options, many with special to-go packages meant for outdoor enjoyment at the festival. With details and reservations available at the Awesome Alpharetta website, downtown Alpharetta’s hotels provide handy lodging for anyone planning a whole weekend adventure.

Transportation and accessibility

Getting to the event is hassle-free; there is plenty of parking downtown and special ride-share drop-off sites. Since there are only limited and first-come, first-served access to seating at the stages, attendees are encouraged to bring portable chairs.
