Atlanta, Georgia – Atlanta will have a significant civic event on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 as the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) hosts voter registration campaigns to commemorate National Voter Registration Day.
Five Points, College Park, H.E. Holmes, Lindbergh Center, Doraville, Kensington, and North Springs Stations are among the various major transit stations around the city where these non-partisan activities are scheduled to take place. Emphasizing the need of civic involvement, MARTA seeks to make voter registration available to both commuters and citizens between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Promoted for its ability to inspire qualified residents to register to vote, National Voter Registration Day has grown to be an important event across the nation. With an eye toward removing obstacles to voter registration and public awareness of the forthcoming elections, MARTA has worked with nearby neighborhood organizations this year to promote the day.
Those who want to register at any of the assigned MARTA stations must provide a state identity card or driver’s license. Registrants can alternatively offer the last four digits of their Social Security number. This program highlights MARTA’s dedication to community involvement and rider empowerment through the process of active election participation.
