Equifax invests $25 million to expand Alpharetta campus and add 250 new jobs

Alpharetta, Georgia – Equifax is making a big investment in Alpharetta and has plans to spend $25 million to expand its campus in Fulton County. The expansion will help the company stay at 1505 Windward Concourse for a long time and make room for over 250 more jobs, bringing the total number of workers at the site to about 1,660.

Officials in Alpharetta were happy to hear the news, saying it was another proof that the city is a center for technology and innovation.

“This expansion reflects what so many leading companies already know—Alpharetta is a premier destination for top tech talent and innovative businesses,” said Alpharetta Mayor Jim Gilvin. “We’re proud that Equifax continues to grow here and invest in our community.”

The third floor of the JV White 1 building will be completely redone as part of the project. The Equifax Corporate Technology Team will be moving into the area, which was once a data center, and turning it into collaborative workspaces. The corporation is still moving to the Equifax Cloud™, a global platform that is part of a multibillion-dollar technology update. The money will go toward new equipment, modern workspaces, updated furniture, and more parking for staff.

Mark W. Begor, Chief Executive Officer of Equifax, described the Alpharetta campus as central to the company’s worldwide operations.

“The Equifax Alpharetta campus plays a critical role in our global innovation strategy,” said Mark W. Begor, Equifax Chief Executive Officer. “We are grateful for the support from the City of Alpharetta and believe that this expansion will help us to continue attracting top-tier tech talent going forward.”

Equifax has been a part of the Alpharetta business scene for almost 35 years. The site is not only the company’s biggest office in the world, but it’s also one of the most important places where it does business, with about 2,000 workers and contractors working there. The corporation has been based in Atlanta since 1899 and has operations in 24 countries, employing about 15,000 people around the world.

The City of Alpharetta’s Economic Development Department, the Alpharetta Development Authority, and Select Fulton all helped make the expansion happen. Leaders in both the city and the county stressed that Equifax’s choice shows that the area is becoming more well-known as a place to do business.

“Alpharetta continues to show why it’s one of the most desirable places for companies to invest and grow,” said Robb Pitts, Chairman, Fulton County Board of Commissioners. “We’re proud that Equifax has chosen to expand here, and Fulton County is fortunate to have great cities like Alpharetta that create strong communities and attract world-class businesses.”

“We’re thrilled that Equifax continues to see Alpharetta as a strategic location for investment and talent,” said Jack Nugent, Chair of the Development Authority of Alpharetta. “This project aligns perfectly with our vision of fostering a dynamic innovation economy.”

Renovations are scheduled to begin later this year, marking another step in the city’s rise as one of the Southeast’s leading technology corridors.
