Public invited to attend or watch live as Fulton County board convenes Wednesday, Feb. 4

Fulton County, Georgia – The Fulton County Board of Commissioners will hold its first regular meeting of February on Wednesday morning. This meeting will be an early milestone in the county’s legislative and administrative schedule for 2026. The meeting will start at 10 a.m. on Feb. 4 in the Assembly Hall at the Fulton County Government Center. County leaders and residents are anticipated to follow a full agenda of updates and recognitions.

The County Manager is supposed to provide the commissioners a series of briefings during the session that cover a number of important areas of county operations. The reports will be about Finance, Elections, Justice and Safety, and Health and Human Services. They will provide commissioners a quick look at what is going on in important departments and what their top objectives are.

There is also a plan for a legislative update related to the 2026 State Legislative Session. This would give the board an outline of changes that potentially affect county governance, funding, or policy direction in the coming months. This part of the discussion is meant to help make sure that county planning is in line with what is happening at the state level.

There will also be ceremonial parts to the gathering, such as the swearing-in ceremony for the 2026 Fulton County Youth Commission. The Youth Commission helps get young people involved in local government and civic leadership. The induction marks the official start of service for the new group.

Also, the commissioners will read proclamations honoring “Shola Olorunsola Appreciation Day” and “Fulton County Department of Registrations and Elections Appreciation Day.” These proclamations are intended to acknowledge individual contributions and the work of the county department responsible for administering elections.

Anyone is welcome to come to the meeting in person, and Fulton County Government Television will broadcast the meeting live. People who want to make public comments can do so in person or over Zoom. According to rules set by the board during a special convened meeting in January 2024, all requests to speak, including written email remarks, must be made before the clerk officially starts the meeting at 10 a.m.
