Alpharetta turns Independence Day into full weekend of music and patriotic displays

Alpharetta, Georgia – Alpharetta is preparing to turn Independence Day weekend into a two-night community celebration, giving residents and visitors more than one way to gather, relax, and look to the sky.

This year’s festivities will carry extra meaning as the city joins the nation in honoring America’s 250th anniversary. The weekend will include live music, a patriotic drone show, family time at the park, and Alpharetta’s annual fireworks display.

The celebration begins Friday, July 3, at Town Green at Alpharetta City Center, located at 2 Park Plaza. The evening will open with a concert by Party on the Moon, one of the Southeast’s premier party bands. The performance is scheduled from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., bringing music and energy to the heart of the city as the holiday weekend gets underway.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, family, and friends, then settle in for an evening built around community and celebration. As daylight fades, the focus will move from the stage to the sky.

At 9:30 p.m., a patriotic drone show will rise above Town Green, creating a bright tribute to America’s 250th anniversary. The display will give families a chance to enjoy a modern twist on a holiday tradition, with lights and movement replacing the usual sound of fireworks for the first night of the weekend.

The celebration will continue Saturday, July 4, at Wills Park, located at 11925 Wills Road. Alpharetta’s annual Independence Day fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9:15 p.m., lighting up the night for all ages.

Families are encouraged to arrive early, choose a comfortable spot on the lawn, enjoy a picnic, and spend time together before the show begins. The event is designed as a relaxed holiday gathering, giving the community time to slow down before the fireworks fill the sky.

Weather could affect the schedule, but city officials have noted that if a delay is needed, the latest start time for the fireworks will be 10:40 p.m.

With one night at Town Green and another at Wills Park, Alpharetta’s Independence Day weekend will offer music, open spaces, patriotic displays, and a chance for neighbors to celebrate together. More details are available through the city’s Special Events page.
