Atlanta, Georgia – For couples looking to get married without turning the day into a major expense, Fulton County is bringing back an option built around simplicity. “Forever Fridays” wedding ceremonies return this week, offering a free way to exchange vows with a few special touches included.
The relaunch begins Friday, September 4, 2026, when Fulton County Probate Court will welcome couples to a group wedding ceremony at 3 p.m. at the Fulton County South Service Center, 5600 Stonewall Tell Road in College Park.
The kickoff is designed to feel like more than a routine courthouse ceremony. Probate Court says couples can expect music, wedding photography, celebratory cupcakes and a special wedding performance. A surprise celebrity guest officiant is also scheduled to help mark the return of the program.
There is no ceremony fee and no appointment is required. Couples must, however, already have a valid Fulton County marriage license before taking part.
Space will be limited. Each couple may bring no more than two guests to witness the ceremony, allowing newlyweds to share the occasion with close family members or friends while keeping the event manageable.

Chief Probate Judge Kenya Johnson said the program is intended to remove some of the financial pressure that can come with getting married while giving couples a meaningful start to their next chapter.
“Forever Fridays is about more than a wedding ceremony, it’s about strengthening families and communities,” Johnson said in a release.
“By eliminating ceremony costs, couples can put those dollars toward their future and begin their marriage with greater stability. Strong families help build stronger, safer communities, and we are honored to be part of the beginning of so many new Fulton County families.”
That no-cost approach is central to the returning program. Traditional weddings can involve expenses ranging from venues and photography to food, decorations and other services. Forever Fridays offers couples with a Fulton County marriage license a different path: a ceremony without the added ceremony cost, while still providing an organized setting for the moment.
The September 4 event will serve as the official comeback for the popular wedding program, combining the practical convenience of a courthouse ceremony with a more celebratory atmosphere.
For couples ready to say “I do,” the requirements remain straightforward: bring a valid Fulton County marriage license, arrive for the 3 p.m. ceremony and keep the guest list to two people.
