New Smyrna plant to create 210 jobs as Flock Safety scales crime-solving technologies

Smyrna, Georgia – Flock Safety, a business leading the way in safety technology solutions, opened its large new manufacturing plant in Smyrna, marking a major development for Georgia’s tech and manufacturing industries. Governor Brian P. Kemp, Flock Safety CEO Garrett Langley, and several other officials like Smyrna Mayor Derek Norton and Cobb County Chairwoman Lisa Cupid attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking this event.

Projected to generate about 210 jobs in the next three years, the newly opened 97,000-square-foot building is a $10 million investment. This project emphasizes the state’s dedication to promote a favorable business environment for growing businesses in the aerospace and technology sectors.

“In Georgia, we foster a business environment where innovative companies can get off the ground and grow into leaders in their industry while operating in safe communities,” said Governor Brian Kemp. “Flock Safety is a great example of the success that approach has created, and we’re proud to celebrate this milestone with them. We look forward to many years of partnership with Flock Safety in their efforts to help keep Georgians safe.”

Founded in Georgia in 2017, Flock Safety has expanded significantly, working with more than 300 law enforcement agencies and 100 companies to deploy its crime-solving technologies and sustaining more than 250 employments in the state. Following its purchase of Aerodome—a leader in quick response drones for public safety—the company added the Drone as First Responder system to its product portfolio last year.

Langley expressed his excitement for the state’s encouraging business climate by saying that the company believes to be lucky to have their origins in Georgia, the clear leader in the American aerospace sector, and are happy to invest more by generating hundreds of advanced manufacturing and aviation jobs locally.

Including the Drone as First Responder technology, the Smyrna factory will concentrate on manufacturing sophisticated public safety instruments. It would also manage assembling solar panels required for their operation and fixing damaged gadgets. The site has started recruiting and intends to be fully functioning by 2027.

“Smyrna’s convenient location and diverse talent pool make the city an ideal environment for corporate innovation opportunities,” said Smyrna Mayor Derek Norton. “We appreciate Flock’s confidence in Smyrna and welcome them to our community.”

The Georgia Department of Economic Development, the City of Smyrna, Cobb County Economic Development, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Georgia Power, and SelectCobb worked together to help the expansion. These alliances show a common dedication to improving Georgia’s tech sector and strengthening public safety through invention.
