Fulton County, Georgia – The 2026 Recycled Art Contest is now open in Fulton County. Young artists are being asked to repurpose trash into beautiful works of art. The Department of Public Works put together this project, which is open to kids in kindergarten through 12th grade. It focuses on creativity, environmental awareness, and the message of litter prevention.
Participants are asked to make new mixed-media works of art using only recycled materials they find at home or in local communities. You can’t use traditional art supplies like paint, markers, or crayons. Instead, you have to focus on reusing things and using your imagination. Students must take pictures of their finished artwork and send it in electronically by the end of February in order to fulfill the admission procedure.
The county says the event is meant to show off artistic talent and get families to think differently about the trash they throw out every day. Students who need more materials might find ideas and supplies at local recycling sites, such the Roswell Recycling Center and its partners.
On April 22, there will be a public reception at the Peachtree Gallery inside the Government Center in downtown Atlanta to honor the chosen finalists. Visitors will be able to see the art on exhibit, which will honor the ingenuity of the young people who made it and the message about the environment that each item sends. Winners of the contest will get gift cards and other prizes.
Fulton County’s official website has further information about how to enter, the rules for submissions, and updates on the contest. You may also email the county’s contest contact with any queries.
