Alpharetta prepares for return of Wire and Wood Songwriters Festival in October with two days of live music

Alpharetta, Georgia – Downtown Alpharetta is preparing to once again turn into a stage under the open sky as the city gears up for the 13th annual Wire & Wood Songwriters Festival, set for October 9 and 10, 2026. Over two days, the familiar streets will shift into a lively gathering place where music takes center stage and thousands of visitors come together for a shared experience rooted in storytelling and sound.

Organized as a free event, the festival is expected to draw more than 20,000 attendees. More than 30 performances are planned across six outdoor stages, creating a steady rhythm of live music throughout the weekend. For those looking for a more personal connection to the craft, ticketed indoor listening sessions at Roaring Social will offer a quieter setting where songwriting takes the spotlight.

The lineup reflects a wide musical range, blending Americana, folk, country, rock, and roots influences. At its core, the event is not just about performance, but about the stories behind each song, giving audiences a closer look at how music is shaped and shared.

This year’s headliners bring a strong Southern presence. Friday night will feature Corey Smith, known for his independent path and deeply personal songwriting. His career, built outside the traditional industry mold, has been defined by steady touring and a loyal fan base. Over the years, his work has resonated through honest lyrics and a grounded approach to storytelling.

Closing out the festival on Saturday night will be Sister Hazel, a band with decades of experience and a lasting connection with audiences. Rising to prominence in the late 1990s, they have continued to evolve while maintaining a recognizable sound. Their long-standing relationship with fans extends beyond music, with a strong commitment to charitable efforts supporting cancer research and care.

Beyond the stages, the festival atmosphere will stretch across the downtown area. More than 50 local restaurants will offer to-go options, allowing visitors to enjoy meals between performances. Additional attractions, including a Live Art Lounge and a Music Makers Market, will add layers of creativity and interaction throughout the weekend.

More artists are expected to be announced in the coming months, building anticipation for an event that continues to grow while staying true to its original spirit.
