Two public meetings open debate over North Point’s potential transformation

Alpharetta, Georgia – Two public meetings have placed Alpharetta residents at the front end of a potentially major change around North Point. Before formal hearings begin, community members have already started asking what a new sports and entertainment district could mean for the area.

The proposal is still moving through the zoning review process, but the early conversations have offered the public a closer look at Jamestown LP’s plans for a mixed-use development tied to the future of North Point.

The City of Alpharetta hosted Community Zoning Information Meetings on June 10 and July 8 for the proposed North Point Sports & Entertainment District. Both sessions were designed to give Jamestown LP an opportunity to explain the project before it advances to the formal public hearing stage.

Residents, local businesses and other community members attended the meetings to hear details, raise questions and provide feedback. The discussions gave participants a chance to better understand the proposal while also sharing concerns and ideas directly with those involved in the zoning process.

Although the meetings did not represent a final decision on the development, they served as an early step in the city’s review. Community Zoning Information Meetings allow the public to examine a proposal before scheduled hearings, when appointed boards and city officials may formally consider zoning requests and related matters.

City officials thanked those who participated in both sessions, emphasizing that public input remains an important part of reviewing the proposed district. The city also recognized the questions and engagement offered by residents and businesses during the discussions.

People who could not attend either meeting can still review information about the project and continue following its progress. Development details, supporting materials and a way to submit questions are available through the North Point Mall Future website.

Information about upcoming public hearings and active zoning cases is also available through the City of Alpharetta’s Public Hearings webpage.

The next stages of the process will move the proposal from introductory community discussions into the formal public review system. Until then, residents have an opportunity to study the plans, follow future meeting dates and continue providing input on a project that could reshape the North Point area.
