Sandy Springs, Georgia – Targeting support for over 1,600 children who could otherwise face a giftless season, the Community Assistance Center (CAC) has begun its annual “Hope for the Holidays” gift sponsorship program. The project fits CAC’s larger goal of giving families in need in the neighborhood food, clothes, and financial aid among other basics.
The CEO of CAC, Francis K. Horton, III, underlined the significance of the giving and receiving attitude of the Christmas season, especially to children.
“This is a season of giving and receiving,” said Francis K. Horton, III, CEO of CAC. “Part of being a kid is looking forward to a surprise gift during the holiday season. ‘Hope for the Holidays’ allows both giver and receiver to take part in that joy this winter.”
The program this year wants to surpass last year’s successes, thereby inspiring over 1,550 youngsters with festive joy. Through relationships with local donors—people, organizations, churches, businesses—CAC aims to make sure every registered kid gets a gift that will brighten their holiday season. Children and families who already participate in CAC’s programs have completed wish lists including among other popular gift items bicycles (complete with helmets), tablets, and gift cards.
Those who would want to donate can visit the CAC’s “Hope for the Holidays” page on their website. Contributors can decide here to donate generally to the program or to a particular household. Horton stressed the importance of each donation, no matter the size, in fulfilling the holiday dreams of these children. “The collective impact from the ‘Hope for the Holidays’ program on our community of children in need is meaningful and special. Whether your gifts are large or small, they are all important in fulfilling the wishes of more than 1,600 children through CAC’s ‘Hope for the Holidays,” he stated.
Apart from financial and gift donations, CAC is looking for volunteers to assist in program logistics. To guarantee every child receives their holiday surprise, this covers getting, organizing, and distributing gifts. This group effort emphasizes the part the program plays not just in satisfying fundamental human needs but also in encouraging community spirit and togetherness.
