Fulton County, Georgia – Fulton County families will have a chance to trade busy weekend schedules for quiet water, fresh air and a fishing pole when Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr. hosts Reel Time on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
The District 5 event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bear Creek Nature Center, located at 6300 Cochran Mill Road in Chattahoochee Hills. Set against the natural beauty of the center, the afternoon is designed as a relaxed outing where children, parents and relatives can spend time together outdoors while enjoying one of Fulton County’s scenic community spaces.

This year marks the second year for Reel Time, which Commissioner Arrington said is about much more than fishing. The event is meant to give families a simple way to slow down, connect and create memories in a peaceful setting.
“This is the 2nd year for this event, which gives fathers and their children an opportunity to come together for an afternoon of bonding,” said Commissioner Arrington. “Spending time in one of Fulton County’s greatest resources not only provides an opportunity to learn about Bear Creek Nature Center, but it offers the opportunity for families to make some lasting memories.”

The event is open to fishermen of all ages, making it a good fit for experienced anglers as well as children who may be holding a fishing rod for the first time. To help families take part, fishing poles and light refreshments will be provided during the event. Attendees, however, must bring their own bait.
Families planning to attend are asked to register in advance. During registration, participants will choose a preferred time slot and indicate whether they need a fishing rod. The RSVP process helps organizers prepare for guests and make sure families have what they need for the afternoon.
