Georgia – Georgia’s GOP members want Nikki Haley, ex-governor of South Carolina and former U.N. ambassador, to stop her run for president. This comes after Donald Trump won in New Hampshire on Tuesday.
The statement was revealed Wednesday morning
The call was made in a statement by Josh McKoon, the head of Georgia’s GOP, along with RNC members Jason Thompson and Ginger Howard. It was made public on Wednesday morning. Here’s the complete statement:
As Georgia’s representatives to the Republican National Committee, we have closely followed the Presidential campaign over the last year. In the past two weeks, the primary race has consolidated to two candidates.
As we look at the map & the path going forward it is difficult to see how Ambassador Haley can secure the nomination. Republican voters have sent a clear ― message they want to see the GOP unite around our eventual nominee which is going to be President Donald Trump.
We are united in our call to move to the general election phase of this campaign so that the finite time, money, and other campaign resources can be focused on firing Joe Biden.
With the recent Supreme Court decision permitting an uninterrupted flood of illegal immigration through our southern border, it appears the only way to stop terrorists who want to kill Americans from simply walking into our country is to win the 2024 election.
It is time to put aside personal agendas and unite so we can save the country we all dearly love.
Chairman Josh McKoon,
National Committeeman Jason Thompson, and National Committeewoman Ginger Howard

Not everyone agrees with the statement
Cody Hall, the chief communications officer for Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp, stated that the Georgia GOP shouldn’t pick the Republican candidates for the White House but should support them instead.
The GAGOP’s role is to support our party’s nominees, not try to decide them.
One would think they should have learned that lesson in 2022. #gapol https://t.co/uLZsEe5KeJ

The Associated Press reports that Nikki Haley, former South Carolina governor, spent a lot of time and money in New Hampshire. After Florida Governor Ron DeSantis left the race, she increased her criticism of Trump and became the main Republican challenger to him. However, her efforts didn’t attract enough voters, leaving her in a tough spot for the upcoming primary in her own state.
Former President Trump secured another win in his 2024 GOP nomination campaign, dominating in Iowa and eliminating most of his rivals.
According to the AP, Haley plans to campaign in the U.S. Virgin Islands and South Carolina on Wednesday. The next Democratic primary is on Feb. 3 in South Carolina.
