Macon, Georgia – A major new manufacturing investment is headed to Middle Georgia, bringing with it hundreds of jobs and a stronger industrial presence for Macon-Bibb County.
Governor Brian P. Kemp announced that Unified Legacy, a Georgia-based precision metal fabrication and manufacturing company, will expand its operations with a $125 million investment in a new facility in Macon. The project is expected to create 500 new jobs over the next several years, giving the region a significant boost in skilled employment and long-term manufacturing capacity.
The new facility will be located on Barnes Ferry Road, with construction expected to begin in 2026. Once developed, the site will support Unified Legacy’s growing work across several major industries, including defense, aerospace, data center infrastructure, and industrial manufacturing.
“Georgia’s manufacturing sector continues to grow because companies like Unified Legacy benefit from our strong workforce, infrastructure, and partnership approach,” said Governor Brian P. Kemp.
“We are proud that this Georgia-based company is reinforcing its commitment to the people of this state through this expansion.”
Unified Legacy already has roots in the state. Its Unified Defense manufacturing facility has operated in Byron, Georgia, since 2022. The company produces complex components and custom-built products, using advanced machining, welding, and fabrication capabilities. Its work includes ground support equipment, welded assemblies, generator enclosures, fuel storage tanks, and precision-machined parts.
For company leaders, the Macon-Bibb County project is not only about adding space. It is also about preparing for larger and more complex work as demand continues to rise.
“Georgia has been central to our growth from day one, and this investment in Macon-Bibb County reflects our confidence in the region and its workforce. As demand continues to grow, this new facility expands our capabilities, increases capacity, and positions us to take on larger, more complex work. We are committed to building for the long term here in Middle Georgia,” said Eric Williams, CEO of United Legacy.
