Atlanta, Georgia – From May 24 through May 26, 2025, the Atlanta Jazz Festival—a cornerstone of cultural celebration and one of the biggest free jazz festivals in the country—will once again bring excitement in Piedmont Park. Renowned for its lively exhibition of musical talent and community spirit, the festival this year intends to keep that legacy with a remarkable roster of musicians spanning various jazz genres.
Presented by the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, the festival will showcase performances by both well-known and up-and-coming jazz artists. Adriane Jefferson, executive director of the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, claims the festival’s program features a mix of international, national, and local artists.
“We’re presenting international, national, and local artists who will perform a wide variety of music from traditional, swing, big band and contemporary jazz so there’s something for every jazz lover. Make plans to join us,” Jefferson stated.

Starting Saturday, May 24, Khari Cabral & JIVA perform first; later in the day Marsha Ambrosius and Derrick Hodge will take the stage among other acts. Renowned artists like Ravi Coltrane, Dianne Reeves, and Joe Gransden with his Big Band will perform in the following days, so ending the nighttime shows.
A unique pre-festival concert on May 23 at Atlanta Symphony Hall adds to the appeal of the festival. Offering a unique musical experience before the main event, this performance will include pianist Robert Glasper and singer Baby Rose. Beginning March 28, tickets for this unique event will be up for grabs.
The event’s long-time site, Piedmont Park, provides more than just a music. Festival-goers may take part in a variety of events and facilities meant to improve their experience. Children will find enough to do in the PUBLIX KIDZONE, which will feature games and a book giveaway from the GEEARS Mayor’s Summer Reading Club. Food lovers, on the other hand, can try a range of gastronomic treasures from BBQ to Caribbean cuisine provided by several food vendors.

Furthermore, participants are encouraged to use sustainable transportation choices including cycling to the site where a complimentary bike valet service will be offered. This is regarded as the best route to arrive for individuals who use public transportation given restricted parking near the park.
With no entry charge and available to the public, the festival is both a community-oriented event and a celebration of jazz. But visitors are reminded that park regulations forbid glass containers, tent pitching, pets, and barbecuing.
Rich in talent and with a slew of events planned, the Atlanta Jazz Festival is set to provide an unforgettable weekend for families and jazz enthusiasts. Visitors can visit the festival’s official website, atljazzfest.com, for more information on the event schedule, performers, and other topics.
